"Ostanza" (Get dark) is an end-of-the-day text. Sunset falls on the tale of a political refugee´s journey. After many years away, Teles returns to Zumaia, his home town, an industrial town on the Basque coast, where he once again encounters deep memories of workers´ and anti-Franco struggles. On returning, he hardly recognises the town or his old friends and comrades, and he has to settle some scores with them.
"Ostantza" means light of sunset, and the story takes place in this atmosphere. The main character, now a grandfather, returns to his town, where a relationship that he and his grandson had never imagined has, in fact, emerged, and it takes both of them to a surprising conclusion. This relationship reveals why Teles had gone into exile, and his grandson finds the keys he needs to understand his family and its circumstances.
