The author reflects on the relationships between humans and the environment, using narrative tools and dialogic techniques, and incorporating personal experiences, current events and evidence derived from research work. The protagonist of the story is not “human” in an abstract sense, but rather a young person who may be the author herself or someone like her, who experiences everyday problems due to being in the present and who explains how she positions herself in relation to them. The book seeks to demonstrate that it is possible to think and, ultimately, act with greater freedom and creativity about problems like the climate crisis and biodiversity loss and the decisions which relate to them. The author also tries to convey a positive or optimistic message, as there is much that individuals, each of us, can do to guide the direction and decisions of groups of people, companies, governments and, ultimately, society as a whole.
