Basque poetry book which dwells on borders, migration, privileges and journeys. The poems are tinted with a sense of solitude and search for self away from home.
Beatriz Chivite Ezkieta (1991) is a Basque poet who is based in the United Kingdom, where she studied Chinese and comparative cultural studies. Having lived in different countries for long periods of time, she began to write poetry in Basque to feel closer to her roots and maintain an intimacy with the words of her childhood. She has published five books of poetry in Basque, including Metro (2014), published in English as The Blue Line. Her latest, Zeozer Gaizki Doa (Something Goes Wrong), appeared in 2022. She is the recipient of numerous prizes in both the Basque Country and in the UK, and her poetry has been translated into eight languages.
